Recipe Gadget ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

• Personal Data: When you register for an account, we may collect your name, display name, username, email address, and any additional information you voluntarily provide.
• Facebook Login: When you use Facebook Login, Recipe Gadget may receive your public profile information and email address. We do not post to Facebook on your behalf.
• Apple Sign In: When you use Sign in with Apple, Recipe Gadget may receive a unique Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. If you choose Apple’s private email relay, we may receive a relay email address and treat it as your account email for authentication and account management purposes.
• Recipe Data: We collect recipes, ingredients, instructions, images, prompts, and other content you enter, upload, save, or generate through the Service, including AI-generated output associated with your user account.
• Usage Data: We may automatically collect information such as your IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, pages visited, app screens viewed, feature interactions, crash information, and related diagnostics through cookies, logs, and similar technologies.
• Support and Feedback Data: We may store support requests, bug reports, feedback submissions, and related operational details when you contact us or use in-app support/reporting features.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create, authenticate, secure, and manage user accounts
• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features
• To support recipe creation, sharing, moderation, publishing, and deletion
• To generate AI-based content (including images, suggestions, and instructions) on your behalf
• To respond to support requests, bug reports, moderation reports, and user inquiries
• To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Use
• To send important service-related communications, security notices, or account notices
• To analyze aggregated or de-identified usage patterns for product and platform improvement

3. Facebook Login

If you choose to sign in using Facebook Login, we may collect basic account information provided by Facebook, including your public profile (such as name and Facebook ID) and email address. This information is used solely to authenticate you and create or manage your account within Recipe Gadget.

We do not post to Facebook on your behalf or access your friends list. You can revoke Recipe Gadget’s access to your Facebook account at any time by changing your app permissions in Facebook’s settings.

Facebook Data Deletion Instructions

1. Open Facebook and go to Settings > Apps and Websites.
2. Find “Recipe Gadget” and select Remove.
3. You may also email support@recipegadget.com to request deletion of Facebook-connected account data.

4. Sign in with Apple

If you choose to sign in using Apple, we use the information provided by Apple solely to authenticate you and create or manage your Recipe Gadget account. We do not use Apple sign-in information to track you across third-party apps or websites.

You may revoke Recipe Gadget’s Apple sign-in access through your Apple account settings. Revoking Apple access alone does not necessarily delete your Recipe Gadget account or Service data; for full deletion, use the in-app delete account function or contact support as described below.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Recipe Gadget offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions and may also offer one-time digital purchases. If you purchase a subscription through Apple, payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Deleting your Recipe Gadget account does not automatically cancel your subscription or stop Apple billing.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data only:

• With service providers under contract to support platform operations (for example, cloud hosting, moderation services, analytics providers, or image generation APIs)
• To comply with legal obligations, lawful requests, or law enforcement requirements
• To enforce our Terms of Use or protect the rights, safety, or property of Recipe Gadget, our users, or the public

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember sessions, support authentication, understand feature usage, and improve the Service. You can configure your browser or device settings to limit some tracking technologies, but parts of the Service may not function correctly.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may include links or integrations with third-party services such as Apple, Meta/Facebook, cloud hosting, analytics providers, moderation providers, and image-generation APIs. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of those external services. Please review their policies independently.

9. AI-Generated Content

When you use features involving AI-generated instructions, suggestions, or images, we may log the related prompts, inputs, outputs, moderation decisions, and operational metadata for quality control, safety review, abuse prevention, and service improvement. We do not use this information to personally identify you except where necessary to investigate misuse, fraud, moderation issues, or legal violations.

10. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards designed to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by the Service. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been submitted, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Your Rights and Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You may also request removal of recipes, images, or other content you created. We may retain some information where required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, moderation records, or other legitimate operational reasons.

If you used Facebook Login, you may also revoke access and request deletion directly through your Facebook account or by emailing support@recipegadget.com. We will honor valid deletion requests in compliance with Meta Platform requirements.

Facebook Data Deletion: You can request deletion of Facebook-sourced data in two ways: (1) remove Recipe Gadget in your Facebook account under Settings > Apps and Websites, which may notify us of the removal; or (2) email support@recipegadget.com with the subject “Facebook Data Deletion” from the email address linked to your account. We will honor valid requests and delete Facebook Platform Data associated with your account within our stated timelines.

12a. User Data Deletion & Retention

You may delete your account and associated personal data using the in-app account deletion flow or by contacting support@recipegadget.com. If you used Facebook Login, you may also remove Recipe Gadget in Facebook under Settings > Apps and Websites. Upon receiving or processing a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize account data, private recipes, images, and related personal operational records within 30 days.

Public recipes are removed from public access promptly after a valid account or content deletion request and are fully removed from our normal public systems and generated artifacts within 30 days. Cached, indexed, or distributed copies outside our direct control may persist temporarily until they are refreshed or removed by those systems.

System logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and operational integrity, then expire by policy. Backups may retain deleted records for up to 35 days until the normal backup window expires; we do not restore backups for the purpose of reintroducing deleted user data.

These practices are intended to align with applicable operational requirements and platform expectations, including Meta’s developer expectations for user data deletion and a publicly available deletion method.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating this page or otherwise as required. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of RecipeGadget.com and the Recipe Gadget mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, publish, share, or generate content that is unlawful, offensive, misleading, abusive, or violates the rights of others
• Circumvent moderation tools, filters, or prompt restrictions
• Submit or attempt to generate harmful, explicit, abusive, or disallowed content using AI features
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service or its functionality
• Scrape data, harvest information, or access content without permission
• Use automated tools or bots to create, modify, scrape, or access content unless expressly authorized by us

4. Content Ownership & Licensing

You retain ownership of original recipes, instructions, prompts, and media that you submit. By submitting content to the Service, you grant Recipe Gadget a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, distribute, format, and promote your content within the Service and related Recipe Gadget services.

This includes permission to include your recipes and associated images in public-facing recipe pages, recipe cards, platform previews, social media posts, and internal AI or moderation systems used to operate, secure, or improve the Service.

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service may use AI to assist in generating recipe instructions, suggestions, and images based on user inputs. AI-generated content is automated and may contain inaccuracies, inappropriate substitutions, moderation issues, or other problems. You are responsible for reviewing such content before sharing, using, or preparing recipes based on it.

We reserve the right to modify, moderate, reject, block, or remove any AI-generated content that violates these Terms, our moderation standards, or platform rules.

6. Moderation and Public Recipes

All public-facing content is subject to moderation. We reserve the right to remove, restrict, delist, or deny access to any recipe, image, comment, or other content that violates these Terms, violates law or platform policy, or disrupts the Service. Users may report objectionable content using in-service reporting features or by email. We will review reports and takedown requests as reasonably appropriate and may remove content at our discretion.

7. Data Use and Retention

We may store and analyze recipe data, prompts, moderation results, and AI-generated content to operate, improve, secure, and support the Service. Once a recipe has been shared publicly, copies may persist temporarily in generated pages, caches, indexes, or other systems even if you later delete your account or remove the original content, but we will remove that content from our normal public systems in accordance with our deletion and retention policies.

8. Subscriptions and Digital Purchases

Recipe Gadget may offer optional paid subscriptions and digital feature purchases. Pricing, billing frequency, and included features are presented in the app or Service at the time of purchase. Auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through Apple are billed through your Apple ID account and renew automatically unless canceled in accordance with Apple’s billing rules. You are responsible for managing subscriptions through Apple where applicable.

Deleting your Recipe Gadget account does not automatically cancel Apple billing. You must manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple account settings.

9. Termination

We may suspend, limit, or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, abuse of the Service, fraud, or misuse of platform features. You may delete your account at any time using the in-app delete account feature or by contacting support. Some operational records may persist temporarily in accordance with our Privacy Policy and retention practices.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or unsuitable for certain diets, allergies, or uses. Recipe Gadget makes no guarantees regarding the quality, accuracy, safety, legality, suitability, or availability of any content, recipes, or generated output.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recipe Gadget shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including reliance on any content, generated output, or user-submitted material.

12. Modifications

We may revise these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those updates.

13. Intellectual Property and Proprietary Technology

The Recipe Gadget platform includes proprietary technology, trade secrets, and intellectual property protected under U.S. copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. This includes, but is not limited to, ingredient suggestion systems, AI prompt frameworks, recipe generation logic, image generation tools, moderation systems, design elements, generated page systems, and user interface components.

You agree not to copy, reproduce, republish, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, logic, algorithms, workflows, or protected assets from any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Recipe Gadget and its licensors.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
