DIY taco seasoning for tacos, vegetables, seafood, rice, steak rubs, wings, vinaigrettes, and more.
Ingredients
- Seasoning Blend
- Mccormick® Paprika: 5 TSP
- Mccormick® Garlic Powder: 1 1/4 TSP
- Mccormick® Ground Cumin: 1 1/4 TSP
- Mccormick® Onion Powder: 1 1/4 TSP
- Mccormick® Chili Powder: 1 TSP
- Mccormick® Oregano Leaves: 1 TSP
- Sea Salt From Mccormick® Sea Salt Grinder: 1 1/2 TSP
- Corn Starch: 1 1/2 TSP
- For Serving
- Lean Ground Beef Ground Turkey: 1 Lbs.
- Water: 3/4 Cup
- Taco Shells Flour Tortillas (6 inch): 12
Instructions
- Mix spices, herbs, salt, and corn starch in a small bowl until well blended.
- Set seasoning blend aside.
- Brown meat in a large skillet on medium-high heat.
- Drain fat.
- Stir in seasoning blend and water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Spoon into warm taco shells.
- Serve with desired toppings, such as shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, salsa, and sour cream.
- Note: You can double or triple the recipe, seal it in an airtight container and use it whenever you’re ready for a flavorful fiesta.
- Note: Like a little extra heat? Add a pinch (or two!) of McCormick® Crushed Red Pepper for an extra kick.
