I mix the soup with the stuffing before spooning over the cheese, and add 1/4 C melted butter. I found the stuffing is too dry if the soup is beneath the stuffing. I've done this with Stove Top without preparing it separately. Sometimes I add a 2nd can of soup.
Ingredients
Chicken Breasts: 6
Cream Of Mushroom Soup
Monterey Jack Cheese: 3/4 Lbs.
Small Package Pepperidge Farms Stuffing
Medium Package Stove Top Stuffing
Instructions
Lay chicken breasts in bottom of 9x13 baking pan.
Cover with sliced cheese.
Cover with soup.
If using Pepperidge Farm, spread over soup and bake at 350 °F for 1-1/2 hours uncovered. (May have to cover if stuffing starts to get too brown).
If using Stove Top, cook chicken mixture approximately one hour.
Prepare Stove Top according to package direction and spread on top.
Cook for another half hour or until chicken is tender.
