Since not everyone liked the classic cream of mushroom soup green bean casserole, my cousin came up with this one to serve at Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
- Butter (Divided): 1/2 Cup
- Flour (garlic powder and pepper heat until): 4 TSP
- Sour Cream: 2 Cup
- Garlic Powder Or Garlic Salt (Optional)
- Shredded Swiss Cheese: 8 Oz.
- Green Beans (4)
- Crushed Corn Flakes: 2 Cup
- Pepper (Optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 °F. Grease 1-1/2 quart casserole.
- In large skillet, melt 4 T butter.
- Stir in flour to make a paste.
- Add sour cream, garlic powder, and pepper. Heat until hot and bubbly, stirring constantly.
- Add Swiss cheese. After cheese melts, add green beans. Stir to coat.
- Pour into casserole.
- In skillet, melt remaining 4 T butter and stir in corn flakes.
- Spread on top of green bean mixture.
- Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes, until golden brown.
