Yummy old school cookies.
Ingredients
- Butter (1 pound): 2 Cup
- Sugar (1 pound): 3 Cup
- Eggs
- Flour (We Use Unbleached (for better flavor): 5 Cup
- Sugar For Sprinkling
- Colored Sugar (etc for decorating if you want)
Instructions
- Soften butter, cream with the sugar; add eggs.
- Add flour a bit at a time, sifting in, mixing well each time.
- Chill dough until hard.
- Roll dough out a chunk at a time, keeping the rest in the refrigerator, using well-floured cloth and rolling pin cover.
- Roll until very thin: Dough will be almost translucent.
- Using doughnut cutter, cut into rings, and transfer carefully to lightly greased cookie trays.
- Sprinkle with sugar. (If using colored sugar or decorations, sprinkle first with white sugar.)
- Bake at 375° F until slightly puffed and golden at the edges.
- Remove from cookie trays immediately.
- Pack in airtight tins when cool.
