Instructions

• For the Ruby Cookies:
• Preheat the oven to 350°F.
• In a mixing bowl, cream together the vegetable shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
• Add the eggs and milk, mix well.
• In a separate bowl, combine five cups all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground nutmeg, and salt.
• Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Add additional cup flour as needed, but don't add too much.
• Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
• Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
• Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before serving.
