Ingredients
- Ground Nutmeg: 1 TBSP
- Granulated Sugar: 1 Cup
- Brown Sugar: 1 Cup
- Vegetable Shortening: 1 Cup
- Large Eggs: 2 Each
- Milk (Whole, called sweet): 1 Cup
- Baking Powder: 2 TBSP
- Baking Soda: 2 TBSP
- Table Salt: 1 TBSP
- All-Purpose Flour (approx): 6 Cup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the vegetable shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add the eggs and milk, mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine five cups all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Add additional cup flour as needed, but don't add too much.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before serving.
