Fresh made pizza sauce with fresh tomatoes.
Ingredients
- Roma Tomatoes: 500 g
- Red Pepper Flakes (to taste): 1/2 TSP
- Garlic (Grated): 1/2 TBSP, 1 Dash
- Olive Oil: 2 TBSP
- Table Salt (to taste): 1/2 TSP
- Sugar: 1 TSP
- Oregano (Dried): 1/2 TSP
- Basil (Dried): 3/4 TSP
- Black Pepper: 1/2 TSP
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Cut the Roma tomatoes in half and place them on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil over the tomatoes and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
- Roast the tomatoes in the oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the tomatoes from the oven and let them cool.
- Peel the skin off the tomatoes and discard.
- In a blender, combine the roasted tomatoes, garlic, red pepper flakes, sugar, oregano, basil, and a dash of salt.
- Blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Transfer the sauce to a saucepan and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Use the sauce on your pizza or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
