Always a party favorite! This one is fairly simple, with a rich umami sauce!
Ingredients
- Ground Beef: 1 Lbs
- Breadcrumbs: 1 Cup
- White Onion (Chopped, Finely): 1/2 Cup
- Large Eggs: 1 Each
- Salt And Pepper To Taste: 1 Pinch
- Brown Sugar: 1 Cup
- Water: 1 Cup
- Tomato Ketchup: 1/2 Cup
- Apple Cider Vinegar (to taste): 1/2 Cup
- Soy Sauce: 2 TBSP
- Cornstarch: 2 TBSP
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped white onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned and cooked through.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, tomato ketchup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for a few more minutes.
- Serve the sweet and sour meatballs hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
