Ingredients
- Unsalted Butter (Room Temp): 1 Cup
- Powdered Sugar: 1 1/2 Cup
- Large Eggs: 1 Each
- Vanilla Extract: 1 TSP
- All-Purpose Flour: 2 1/2 Cup
- Baking Soda: 1 TSP
- Cream Of Tartar: 1 TSP
- Table Salt: 1/4 TSP
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the large egg and vanilla extract, mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and table salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to desired thickness.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with confectioner's sugar frosting or royal icing as desired.
